Truly Brave Films is an ambitious film production studio founded by Dan Zubrzycki, Isaac Ruth, and Ray Davis. We strive to combine technical excellence with a keen eye towards character development and engaging storytelling.
Isaac Ruth is a writer, director, and artist out of Philadelphia. He graduated from The University of the Arts in 2012 and has since had a constant presence in the Philadelphia film scene, winning the PIFVA Finishing Fund along with his additional scholarships and grants from his University.
After working closely with the crew of the Philly-based "McCanick," starring David Morse, Mike Vogel, Ciarán Hinds, Rachel Nichols, and Cory Monteith (in his final role), Isaac teamed up with Dan Zubrzycki and Ray Davis to create Truly Brave Films. Inspired by films as widely varied as Jaws, Jurassic Park, Gladiator, Pan's Labyrinth, L'illusionniste, and An American Werewolf in London, Isaac strives to create original and imaginative characters and stories through the medium of film, writing, and illustration
Ray Davis was raised in Baton Rouge LA and West Hartford CT where his love for filmmaking began with his parents -- actors and directors in film/theater. He graduated with Honors from The University of the Arts with a Bachelor of Science degree in Film & Screenwriting, and his since consistently worked in Philadelphia on film and network television sets. He feels very honored and inspired to have worked with many of his cinema idols. One of his favorite gigs was as a stunt driver in a police car chase.
His senior thesis, "The Destruction Room," premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner, and went on to garner several awards and nominations. He's very engaged in stories that are stylized and grounded that serve a truth to imaginative ideas.
Dan brings an eclectic background of talents to the Truly Brave Films team. Having performed as a solo operatic vocalist with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, published a series of short stories, started a small branding agency, and been a part of the oldest Shakespeare society in the world, Dan combined his business savvy and artistic ambitions into a passion for film making and galvanized the team. He is influenced by a combination of literary classics, modern fantasy, Broadway musicals, Irish playwrights, his study of Psychology, and a wide array of films..
